Hello and welcome!
This blog will serve as documentation of my anthropological journey abroad to research the effects of modernism and industrialism on the indigenous culture of Aboriginal Australians. Once I return to the U.S. I will create a performance piece based off of my findings and experiences.
I am spending five weeks down under in order to study Wildlife & Conservation through The Education Abroad Network and University of New South Wales. Though the course itself boasts an emphasis on the Aboriginal perspective on landscape, I will also use my free time during the program to conduct interviews, do museum tours, go bushwalking, and learn as much as I can about ancient and modern Aboriginal culture and religious practice.
My course will take me to Brisbane, Byron Bay, Kakadu National Park, Darwin, Blue Mountains, The Daintree Rainforest, Cairns, and Sydney, Australia.
Thanks for visiting!
